Zenatrol
In April 2006, Foundation Nutriceuticals announced it would be selling
Zenatrol, a new herbal ephedra based diet pill which contains the highest
legal amount of ephedra allowed. Zenatrol is sold online at
www.worldclassnutrition.com. According to Foundation Nutriceuticals World
Class Nutrition was chosen to sell Zenatrol on their retail website because,
“They are one of the oldest dietary supplement websites on the net, and the
reputation is of the highest caliber.”
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration banned ephedra based products in 2004,
but the U.S. District Court in Salt Lake City struck down the ban in April
2005. The FDA had not proven that supplements with 10 mg or less of
ephedrine-alkyloids per serving was dangerous and tried to link
ephedra-based supplements to a few deaths. Foundation Nutraceuticals along
with other companies challenged the ban claiming that ephedra-based products
had been safely used for hundreds of years. Now that the FDA ban on
ephedra-based supplements has been struck down, Zenatrol is now available as
a full-fledged ephedra fat burner and Foundation Nutraceuticals has made
Zenatrol available to the pubic. Zenatrol contains 167.5 mg (standardized to
10 mg. of ephedra) of Ma Huang the highest legal amount of ephedra allowed
and contains the same ingredients contained in the original Xenadrine FRA-1
with ephedra.
The primary ingredient in Zenatrol is Ma Huang (ephedra), which is a Chinese
herb that has been used for over 5,000 years to treat several disorders
including asthma and bronchitis. Zenatrol is one of two types of diet
supplements available and belongs to a group of metabolic optimizers that
aid in weight loss through a process called thermogensis. Thermogensis
assists the body in generating heat by increasing metabolism rates and is
also known as thermogenic effect, thermogenic response, or specific dynamic
action (SDA). This provides stimulation for the body to burn fat and at the
same time provides energy.
In the last ten years, ephedra has gained attention for its thermogenic
qualities and its ability to increase metabolism. Zenatrol also contains 455
mg of guarana extract (caffeine). The combination of caffeine and ephedra
works as an even more effective fat burner. Caffeine maximizes the effect of
ephedra by suppressing the appetite and at the same time, burning calories.
Zenatrol stimulates the metabolism of fat while providing energy for six to
